Fizik Antares Saddle
The newest offering from Fizik is rather interesting in that it combines the best attributes of Fiziks two most popular saddles, the Arione and the Aliante. It has a fairly flat shape across the back and a reasonably wide nose. Fizik have also trimmed down the sides and done away with the wing-flex system they have used in the past.
I have found the shape comfortable in almost all situations. In paticular for sliding back while seated climbing offers a great deal of support with no restriction of movment. I have a fairly narrow stance and thought the wide and flat nose would be irritating , but this has not been the case. While definitley on the firm side of the padding spectrum, the flexible base and supportive shape have offered ample comfort for such a lightweight race saddle.
The Antares also incorporates Fiziks clip fix system which allows either a seat pouch or a flashing rear light to clip directly to the saddle giving a very neat and tidy appearance.
