NiteRider MiNewt X2 Lights
I have had my X2’s for nearly 2 years using them for both commuting and off-road riding in all conditions and they haven’t missed a beat.
For someone like myself who has poor night vision they throw out 150 lumens which is enough to hit up trails at night with confidence.
Being both compact and robust they can take a fall (of which i have had many!) and as they use ‘O’ rings and velcro you don’t have to worry about breaking the fittings. X2’s don’t take up much room on the bar and stem and can also be mounted on the helmet (they do have a helmet specific mount but it’s not neccessary in most cases).
Claimed run time is 7hrs on half beam which is more like 6hrs and 3-1/2 on full which is more like 3-ish plus flashing mode which is great for commuting or having a rave party.
The batteries are reliable, I have never had issue with them losing charge.
NiteRider has a more compact simplified version called the MiNewt Mini USB that gives off 110 lumens with just on-off options and a run time of 3hrs, great for commuting or training rides on the road. There are also plenty of more powerful units for your 12 and 24hr racing.
